A Variety of Life and Environment-Themed Experiences
from the 18th to the 20th
The National Gwangju Science Museum will host the '2025 Science Spring Festival: Small Life and Green Earth' from the 18th to the 20th.
According to the Gwangju Science Museum on the 16th, this festival is a flagship event commemorating Science Day (April 21), featuring over 20 exhibitions, hands-on activities, and performances under the theme of the importance of nature and the value of life.
During the event, a variety of programs will be available, including ▲animal and insect exhibitions where visitors can experience the ecology of insects and animals firsthand, ▲an environment and biology craft zone themed around recycling and environmental protection, ▲a pet family sports day with companion animals, ▲outdoor performances, and ▲talk concerts.
In the animal exhibition zone, visitors can interact with living creatures such as rhinoceros beetles, frogs, lizards, rabbits, hamsters, and parrots, as well as observe insect life cycles and participate in feeding experiences.
In the environment experience zone, programs include recycling crafts using discarded items, craft activities featuring endangered animals, and an Earth environment maze experience, all designed to encourage citizens to reconsider the value of nature and life.
In particular, the sports day for families and their pets will feature activities like 'fetch' and 'wait games' to strengthen the bond between pets and their owners, with souvenirs provided for participants. There will also be a talk concert on communication with companion animals.
Additionally, various experiential events will be held throughout the venue, including performances by professional pet teams, science museum walks with robot dogs, environmental musicals, and a mobile stamp tour. Detailed event information can be found on the museum's website.
Kim Hyunseung, senior researcher at the museum, stated, "With the ecological crisis intensifying due to wildfires and habitat destruction, we hope this will be a time for citizens to reflect on the value of nature and life together."
