According to a Yonhap News report on the day, Seoul Metro Line 9, which operates Line 9, received 12 complaints starting around 8:20 a.m. about 'filth on the train floor.'

Staff who arrived at the scene confirmed the presence of human feces on the floor of the second car of the train and completed cleaning within 20 minutes. A Metro Line 9 official told the media that, based on the shape of the filth, it is presumed to have dripped down the pants leg of a passenger standing on the train.

They added that if the passenger had been seated, the seat would have been contaminated as well, but only traces of feces were found on the floor. "There were also reports suggesting it was vomit, but the smell was definitely from feces," they said.

The identity of the passenger who left the feces on the train floor and then left has not been identified. Meanwhile, on the same day, a post claiming "someone defecated on a Line 9 train and got off at Noryangjin Station" was uploaded to an online community. However, Metro Line 9 stated that the specific movements of the passenger have not yet been confirmed.
