Special Auction Stage with Master Potter Park Gwangcheon Announced
The 37th Yeoju Ceramic Festival is set to open on May 1, and the national character 'Pengsoo' will visit Yeoju once again.
The Yeoju Sejong Cultural Tourism Foundation (Chairman Lee Sun-yeol) announced on the 15th that popular creator Pengsoo and Korea’s master potter Park Gwang-cheon will present a special ceramic auction performance at the Yeoju Ceramic Festival on May 10. This unique stage, combining the dignified artistry of ceramics with Pengsoo’s cheerful charm, is expected to captivate audiences of all ages.
Since Pengsoo’s first appearance in 2022, the character has participated in the festival for three consecutive years, establishing itself as the festival’s 'official best friend.' Especially this year, Pengsoo showed deep affection by sending a congratulatory video ahead of the festival, continuing a special bond with fans.
The highlight of the stage is the auction of ceramics personally crafted by master Park Gwang-cheon, featuring illustrations of Pengsoo. The ceramic works created by Pengsoo and the master will be revealed live on site, and the auction proceeds will be donated to support the local community, adding meaningful value.
This performance goes beyond a simple auction, designed as an interactive stage engaging the audience. Alongside Pengsoo, 'Ddolbi' will appear to host surprise quizzes related to ceramics and audience participation programs, heating up the atmosphere. It promises to be a stage where everyone from children to adults can laugh and enjoy, offering a fresh experience that delivers the charm of ceramic culture in a more approachable way.
Lee Sun-yeol, Chairman of the Yeoju Sejong Cultural Tourism Foundation, said, "Pengsoo’s appearance is a flagship program that draws enthusiastic attention every year," adding, "Pengsoo’s sincere support and participation in the festival are expected to become a connecting point between ceramics and the public."
Meanwhile, on the same evening, 'G Park' Park Myung-su’s EDM DJ concert will follow. With lively energy and explosive sound that appeals to all generations, it is expected to bring the excitement of the Yeoju Ceramic Festival to its peak.
