Legal Disputes Resolved, Project Implementation Accelerates
Project Proposals Accepted Until May 29
Goheung County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Youngmin) announced on the 15th that it will be accepting proposals for the selection of a private operator for the 'Goheung Space Land Development Project' until May 29.
The 'Goheung Space Land Development Project' aims to create a stay-type complex cultural space that combines space and aviation-themed exhibition, experience, education, and accommodation facilities on a site of 159,612 square meters in Yenaeri, Bongrae-myeon, Goheung County.
In particular, Goheung County expects to attract creative and innovative private investors through this call for proposals, thereby revitalizing the local economy, increasing tourist inflow, and creating new jobs.
This project was previously delayed due to legal disputes such as lawsuits that arose during the initial implementation process. However, with the recent dismissal of related lawsuits by the court, administrative uncertainties have been resolved, allowing the project to move forward in earnest.
Starting with the announcement of the call for proposals on this day, the county will accept inquiries until the 23rd, receive letters of intent to participate by May 9, and accept project proposals until the 29th of the same month. After the deadline, a review committee will select the preferred negotiation partner.
Applicants wishing to participate must prepare and submit a project proposal in accordance with the guidelines. The applicant with the highest score in the evaluation will be granted the status of preferred negotiation partner for concluding a business agreement. To ensure prompt and stable project implementation, applicants must meet requirements such as consortium formation, a focus on financial planning, and limited negotiation periods.
A county official stated, "Goheung Space Land will become a representative regional landmark that combines space aviation and tourism," adding, "Although the domestic construction industry is facing difficulties, we hope for the interest and participation of creative and highly capable private operators."
