"The Future of Changwon, Blossoming with Corporations"
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam successfully held the '22nd Corporate Love Citizen Festival Commemoration Ceremony' at the Changwon Convention Center (CECO) on the 15th.
The Corporate Love Citizen Festival, now in its 22nd year, was held under the theme "The Future of Changwon, Blossoming with Corporations!" The event aimed to unite businesspeople, workers, and citizens in their resolve to shape the future of Changwon together.
The ceremony featured a variety of programs, including ▲awards for the Best CEO and Best Worker of the Year ▲a congratulatory performance by the winner of the 2023 Corporate Song Festival ▲the reading of the Corporate Love Citizen Declaration ▲commemorative and congratulatory speeches ▲and the 'Flower Garden Resolution' performance.
The Best CEO of the Year award went to Park Jungwoo, CEO of Weltem, while the Best Worker award was given to Kang Daesung, plant manager at Korea GM Changwon Plant. Both awardees personally declared the opening of the ceremony, further highlighting the significance of the Corporate Love Citizen Festival.
Park Jungwoo, CEO of Weltem, said, "It is an honor to receive the Best CEO of the Second Half of 2024 award and now the Best CEO of the Year for 2025. I will continue to do my best to ensure that labor and management work together in harmony to lead the local economy."
Kang Daesung, plant manager at Korea GM Changwon Plant, stated, "I have worked diligently in the automotive painting field for over 30 years, and it is a great honor to receive this award at such a major festival. I hope to pass on the skills I have acquired to my juniors and contribute to the local industry."
Jang Geumyong, acting mayor of Changwon Special City, said in his commemorative speech, "Despite the triple hardships of high interest rates, high prices, and a strong exchange rate, as well as worsening external trade conditions, Changwon has steadfastly protected the local economy through the unity of administration, corporations, workers, and citizens. In particular, last month, Changwon was selected as Korea's first culture-leading industrial complex, and we will prepare for the next 50 years as a vibrant, youthful city where industrial complexes are not just places to work, but also spaces to play and enjoy life."
