Practical AI Strategies Developed with Industry and Education Experts Including Naver Cloud
Full-scale Promotion from Generative AI Training to Policies Closely Linked to Daily Life
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Ilpyeong Lee) is accelerating administrative innovation centered on AI.
On the 10th, the district held the first meeting of the 'AI Dongdaemun Innovation Committee' (photo) to discuss practical AI innovation strategies.
This committee was formed with employees working on the ground and experts from industry and education sectors such as Naver Cloud to create practical, action-oriented strategies rather than mere plans.
The meeting covered three main topics: AI strategies suitable for the district, challenges that need to be addressed, and concrete implementation methods. The district focused on establishing executable plans.
Additionally, communication methods for spreading AI culture, especially information sharing using cloud technology, were discussed. There was a consensus that AI is not the task of a single department but a challenge that requires collaboration among all employees.
Mayor Lee said, "AI is like the ocean. It is meaningless unless you navigate it yourself," adding, "We need specific and feasible strategies to ensure our administration does not lose its way in the ocean of AI."
Furthermore, Mayor Lee identified four key areas for AI strategy: civil complaints, school sites, senior centers, and transportation. He expressed the intention to introduce AI in areas closely related to daily life to create changes that residents can feel.
On the 9th, a day earlier, the district also conducted generative AI training for 40 employees. Participants practiced various generative AI tools, from writing ChatGPT prompts to creating images and PPTs.
Going forward, the district plans to support the natural integration of AI throughout administration by hosting generative AI challenges, sharing best practices, and expanding AI education programs for all employees.
Starting with this Innovation Committee, the district aims to actively utilize AI to lead substantial administrative changes.
