Hwasun-gun (Governor Koo Bokgyu) announced that the "2025 National Succulent Gardening Competition" will be held at the Hwasun Flower River Road Exhibition Zone from the 18th to the 27th, during the "2025 Hwasun Spring Flower Festival."

Hosted and organized by Hwasun-gun, the competition will feature entries from succulent plant enthusiasts from across the country who have passed the first round of document screening. The works will be displayed along the Hanioum Flower River Road, and on the 18th, a second on-site judging will select ten teams to receive awards and prize money.

The judges will be divided into two categories: succulent gardening and succulent art. They will evaluate the works based on criteria such as beautiful form, sense of expression, harmony between pots and flowers, relevance to the theme representing Hwasun, originality, balance, and the use and versatility of materials and succulents to select the winners.

This competition, held along the Hwasun Flower River Road where canola flowers are in full bloom, is linked with the "2025 Hwasun Spring Flower Festival" to promote succulents as companion plants. Experience booths and sales will be available, and a photo zone has been set up where visitors can take pictures with succulents.

Choi Hongnam, Director of Agricultural Policy at Hwasun-gun, said, "We hope that through this national succulent gardening competition, people will find emotional comfort, stress relief, and new vitality in life through interaction with companion plants."
