This campaign is a relay-style initiative aimed at promoting tourism consumption throughout Gyeongnam and boosting sales for small businesses. Yangsan City joined the campaign after being nominated by Hong Taeyong, the mayor of Gimhae.
On this day, Mayor Na Dongyeon of Yangsan personally took part in the campaign, delivering a message to citizens and emphasizing the importance of utilizing major tourist attractions in Yangsan for workshops, school trips, and various gatherings to help revitalize the local economy.
In particular, Hwangsan Park, where the campaign was held, was selected as the most popular tourist destination among people in their 60s and older over the past three months as of January this year, according to Korea Tourism Data Lab analysis. Currently, tulips and canola flowers are in full bloom throughout the park, creating a lively atmosphere with visitors eager to enjoy spring.
The city nominated An Byunggu, the mayor of Miryang, and Park Changhyeon, the chairman of the Yangsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as the next participants in the relay. Through this campaign, which involves both the public and private sectors, the city plans to establish a virtuous cycle in which local consumption leads to tangible increases in sales.
Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "We will actively encourage all citizens, institutions, and organizations to gather and spend locally so that we can provide real support to small business owners struggling with sluggish domestic demand," and added, "Yangsan is an attractive city where nature and culture come together, so we ask for your great interest and participation."
Yangsan City is currently carrying out various online and offline tourism marketing activities to successfully promote the '2026 Year of Visiting Yangsan' and revitalize local tourism. Moving forward, the city plans to continue working with the local community to pursue various measures for tourism revitalization and economic recovery.
