The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (President Song Pil-ho) announced on the 15th that the Democratic Party of Korea has donated 530 million won to help residents in the Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan regions who are struggling due to wildfire damage.


This donation was raised through a fundraising campaign conducted by the Democratic Party of Korea targeting all party members from March 28 to April 10, lasting 14 days, with a total of 6,653 people voluntarily participating to show their compassion.


The donated funds will be used for practical relief activities for the affected residents, including emergency livelihood support, operation of temporary shelters, and provision of relief supplies.


The donation ceremony was held at the Democratic Party of Korea’s representative conference room in the National Assembly main building, attended by Park Chan-dae, acting floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Park Sung-jun, senior deputy floor leader, and Shin Hoon, secretary general of Hope Bridge.

Park Chan-dae, acting party leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said, "Over 6,600 people have come together to participate in this fundraising," adding, "It would be nothing short of wonderful if this could offer a small comfort to all those who lost their homes to the wildfire and give them the courage to stand up again." He continued, "The Democratic Party of Korea will do its best to support recovery and the return to daily life."


Shin Hoon, secretary general of Hope Bridge, expressed, "We deeply thank everyone who gathered their hearts to help neighbors affected by the wildfire," and stated, "Hope Bridge will do its utmost on the ground to ensure that this donation, which embodies the spirit of national solidarity, can be a source of strength for the affected residents."
