Residents can visit the Namdong resource circulation stores every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 2 PM and 6 PM to bring recyclable items (including transparent PET bottles, plastics, cans, paper, metals, etc.) and receive monetary compensation according to the set rates for each category.

As a result of operating nine resource circulation stores last year, 2,398 residents brought approximately 49 tons of recyclables over 6,731 visits and received compensation totaling about 13 million KRW.

The district is expanding infrastructure to establish a resource circulation system, such as unmanned collection machines that allow residents to receive monetary compensation for recyclables without time restrictions. Recently, in addition to the seven existing unmanned PET bottle collection machines, a new unmanned can collection machine was installed at the Nonhyeon Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.

Park Jong-hyo, Mayor of Namdong-gu, said, "We will continue to promote diverse and sustainable resource circulation policies to encourage residents to properly dispose of waste and work on raising awareness through various education and promotional activities."
