Improved Pedestrian Access Between Parking Lots and Festival Venue
Enhanced Guidance with QR Codes and Colored Floor Guide Lines
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City announced on the 15th that it will hold the 39th Icheon Ceramic Festival, a representative spring festival, for 12 days from the 25th of this month to the 6th of next month at the Icheon Ceramic Art Village.
This year’s festival will be held as an eco-friendly event under the theme "The Color of Ceramics, The Light of Icheon," showcasing the harmony between traditional and modern ceramics.
The city explained that for this year’s festival, parking arrangements and on-site guidance functions have been enhanced to allow visitors to enjoy the event conveniently.
During the festival period, visitors can walk to the main venue by using "Parking Lot 2" and "Parking Lot 2-1" in the area of Gocheok-ri 590-3, and "Parking Lot 5" at Gocheok-ri 566. However, since a large number of visitors are expected on weekends and holidays, the city urged people to use public transportation as much as possible.
On-site guidance functions have also been strengthened. QR code maps are installed throughout the venue so that visitors can easily check information such as programs, booth locations, and performance schedules on their smartphones.
Colored floor guide lines with directional messages will also be installed throughout the venue. By following these guide lines, visitors can easily find their way to major event sites, experience spaces, and other desired locations.
Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon City, said, "This year, we have prepared a more convenient route guidance system and smart information provision so that anyone can easily enjoy the festival."
Meanwhile, the Icheon City Volunteer Center held a volunteer training session on the 14th to ensure the successful hosting of the event. About 110 people, including Mayor Kim, attended the training, which provided an overview of the festival, volunteer roles, and placement status by field, and enhanced professionalism and response capabilities through service education.
Earlier, the Icheon City Volunteer Center recruited about 1,300 volunteers from 57 organizations for this festival. Volunteers will be active in various fields such as guidance, interpretation, parking, and traffic during the festival period.
