Osaka Expo Opens... China Pavilion Officially Opens as Largest Venue [CMG]

On April 13, 2025, the Japan Osaka-Kansai Expo (hereinafter referred to as the 'Osaka Expo') officially opened, and the China Pavilion also officially opened on the same day. The number of visitors on the first day of the Expo is expected to exceed 140,000.

It is the first time in 55 years that a comprehensive expo is held in Osaka. This Expo features participation from 158 countries and regions worldwide, along with 7 international organizations, exhibiting under the themes of 'Life' and 'Circulation.' Each country's pavilion uses multimedia technology to share visions of future society and showcase their unique cultures.

The China Pavilion covers approximately 3,509㎡, boasting the largest site area among foreign-built pavilions. Under the theme "Building a Community of Life for Humans and Nature - Future Society of Green Development," it displays, for the first time in the world, a comparative exhibition of soil samples from the near and far sides of the moon collected by Chang'e 5 and Chang'e 6. In addition, various advanced technologies such as the 'Zhaolong' deep-sea diving experience module and next-generation humanoid robots are introduced.

The Expo is held on a 155-hectare site on the artificial island Yumesima in the western part of Osaka City and will continue until October 13. The organizing committee expects about 28 million visitors during the exhibition period.
