Selected for Seoul's 2025 Support Project for Vulnerable Groups, Securing 30 Million KRW in Funding
Full-scale Launch of Integrated Health Checkup and Treatment Program Addressing Both Psychological Issues and Physical Symptoms
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) has achieved the distinction of having its "Crime Victim Health Care Support Project" for the mental and physical recovery of crime victims finally selected in the Seoul Metropolitan Government's 2025 Support Project for Vulnerable Groups in Autonomous Districts.
The "Support Project for Vulnerable Groups in Autonomous Districts" is a program led by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to discover support projects for vulnerable groups and eliminate welfare blind spots. With this selection, Mapo-gu has secured a project budget of 30 million KRW.
The core of this project is to address blind spots not covered by existing victim support systems and to assist victims in their recovery and reintegration.
Beyond existing economic support or personal protection for crime victims, the project focuses on physical symptoms such as insomnia and headaches that may occur after a crime (physical symptoms related to mental activity and psychological state) and the additional damage caused by them, linking health checkups and medical support.
Mapo-gu plans to establish a cooperative system with the Seoul Western Crime Victim Support Center and operate the project by allocating the budget accordingly.
The project targets crime victims aged 30 and above, supporting them in the following order: ▲ those residing in Mapo-gu (primary) ▲ those involved in crimes that occurred in Mapo-gu (secondary) ▲ those residing in Seoul outside Mapo-gu (tertiary).
The support procedure includes ▲ basic health consultation and needs survey ▲ professional examination through medical institutions or health screening centers ▲ treatment and monitoring based on examination results ▲ satisfaction survey and follow-up support.
The project period is from April to November 2025, and candidates will be recruited sequentially through the center.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, "Mapo-gu plans to support crime victims to quickly recover from physical and psychological pain and return to daily life, and will continue to expand various support policies for them in the future."
