This meeting marked the first official gathering with local lawmakers since Changwon City transitioned to an acting mayor system, and was organized to strengthen cooperative relationships for securing national funding for key projects and resolving current issues.

Acting Mayor Jang's visit was a strategic move to collaborate with the National Assembly during the budget planning stage by central ministries in April and May, aiming to secure high-quality national funds as a priority. She requested support for 13 projects (with a total project cost of 749.2 billion KRW and a requested amount of 52.7 billion KRW for next year).

The major projects discussed included: the establishment of the Changwon AI Autonomous Manufacturing Support Center; an AI and Big Data-based Mechatronics Medical Device Demonstration Center; the creation of the Changwon National Industrial Complex Cultural Leading Industrial Complex; the development of a Hallyu-themed tourism garden; the creation of a specialized drone manufacturing localization complex; and the construction of sports facilities in Dong-eup Jayeo, among others.

Acting Mayor Jang emphasized, "Amidst a complex internal and external environment, close communication and cooperation between the city and the political community have become more important than ever," and stressed her commitment to active collaboration, saying, "Let us unite our efforts for the shared goal of developing Changwon City and improving the welfare of its citizens."

Meanwhile, the city has begun full-scale persuasion efforts with central ministries at the department and bureau levels, based on a phased strategy to secure national funding for next year. Until the government budget is finalized in August, the city plans to make an all-out effort to secure funding through active coordination with Gyeongnam Province, local lawmakers, and related organizations.
