'Visiting Participatory Budgeting' is a field-oriented program where participatory budgeting committee members directly visit local organizations or groups to inform them about the system and receive project proposals. It was established to expand citizen participation in the budget formulation process and lower participation barriers.

This year's activities involve committee members who have completed advanced training courses such as citizen instructor training and presentation techniques. These members also play a role in turning everyday inconveniences and local issues into concrete project proposals. The city is also conducting tailored budget education by visiting meetings and workshops of groups categorized by age, such as the elderly, children, and youth.

The city is currently accepting proposals for participatory budgeting projects to be reflected in next year's budget. The city plans to select target projects through discussions by the participatory budgeting committee and a 500-person roundtable discussion for proposals submitted by the 30th, and then incorporate them into next year's budget plan.

Kim Yeonsong, head of the Budget and Legal Affairs Division of Gwangmyeong City, said, "We will operate the participatory budgeting system more solidly to create a budget made with citizens and a budget that changes citizens' lives."
