Kim Dong-yeon on Democratic Party Primary Rules Confirmation: "I Won't Be Obsessed with Advantages or Disadvantages"

Kim Dong-yeon, the Gyeonggi Province governor and a candidate in the Democratic Party presidential primary, said on the 14th that he would "confidently proceed without worrying about advantages or disadvantages" regarding the primary rules.

On the same day, at the presidential campaign office in Yeouido, Seoul, Governor Kim said, "I will approach the primary with the heart of a farmer who does not blame the field."

Earlier, the Democratic Party confirmed the so-called 'National Participation Primary,' which selects the June 3 presidential candidate through 50% party members' votes and 50% general public opinion polls.

Governor Kim expressed regret, saying, "I am saddened that the Democratic Party's principle of a national primary has been broken. It is even more painful that we have disappointed the people," adding, "Nevertheless, I accept the decision made by the party members with gravity. From today onward, I will keep it in my heart."
