In order to support the prompt return to daily life for the affected residents, Cheongsong County has formed a "Temporary Modular Housing Support Task Force Team" led by the Deputy Governor. Since the 1st of this month, the team has begun site surveys and selection for the installation of temporary housing.
The site selection process is currently in its final stages. Construction of basic infrastructure will proceed sequentially, starting with villages where land use consent has been obtained. Accordingly, all necessary administrative procedures, including temporary building construction notifications and approvals for the use of national and public land, are being carried out swiftly in parallel.
The temporary modular homes to be installed are being constructed according to standards so that they can later be used as permanent housing. More than 80% of the expected total order (over 400 out of approximately 530 units) has already been placed.
Cheongsong County is thoroughly preparing to install the modular homes as soon as the infrastructure construction, such as water and sewage systems, is completed, so that residents can move in immediately. The county plans to complete the installation of temporary modular homes by the end of May, enabling those currently staying in shelters and temporary accommodations to return to stable living as soon as possible.
County Governor Yoon Kyunghee stated, "Now that the wildfire damage assessment has been completed, we will devote our full efforts to the recovery process," and added, "We will respond promptly to the needs of the affected residents by swiftly demolishing damaged buildings and structures and providing modular housing support to help them return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
