Dong-A University Opens Remodeled Cheongchon Hall at Seunghak Campus

Established with Donations from Kim Sangheon, Chairman of Cheongchon Scholarship Foundation
Latest Facilities Including Acoustics, Heat Exchangers, Electronic Podiums, and Broadcasting Equipment

Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) announced on the 14th that it has reopened the 'Cheongchon Hall' on the first floor of the College of Humanities at the Seunghak Campus after remodeling.

The opening ceremony, held on the 11th, was attended by President Lee Haewoo, Cheongchon Scholarship Foundation Executive Director Choi Hakyu, DN Automotive Head of Management Support Division Yoo Sigyun, Cheongchon Scholarship Foundation Directors Choi Jaeryong and Choi Kyuhwan, Secretary General Jung Wonjae, and Auditor Hwang Jihyun.

Cheongchon Hall was established in 2007 with facility renovation costs supported by DN Automotive, which operates the Cheongchon Scholarship Foundation, the largest scholarship foundation at Dong-A University.

The Cheongchon Scholarship Foundation was founded in 1995, named after the pen name of the late Kim Mansoo (graduated from Dong-A University, Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, 1956). After Chairman Kim's passing, his son Kim Sangheon became the foundation's chairman and has continued his legacy.

This remodeling was made possible by a donation of 600 million KRW to Dong-A University last year by Kim Sangheon, Chairman of DN Automotive. The university also invested additional funds to complete the remodeling of the lobby in front of Cheongchon Hall.

Through the remodeling, Cheongchon Hall adopted a modern design and was fully upgraded with the latest facilities in all aspects, including acoustics, lighting, heat exchangers, insulation, exterior materials, LED electronic display boards, electronic podiums, broadcasting equipment, and seating (194 seats).

President Lee Haewoo said, "With the much more comfortable and well-equipped Cheongchon Hall, student events and special lectures by invited guests can now be held here. I am always grateful to the Cheongchon Scholarship Foundation and Chairman Kim Sangheon of DN Automotive for their unwavering support for our school."

Choi Hakyu (Honorary Professor at Dong-A University), Executive Director of the Cheongchon Scholarship Foundation, said, "Everything, from soundproofing to the environment, has improved greatly. I am grateful for the university's hard work. Seeing students filling the lounge in the lobby and talking about Cheongchon Hall makes me even prouder," he added.
