Daedong Provides 49 Agricultural Machines for Free Rental in Gyeongbuk Wildfire-Affected Areas

9 Tractors, 20 Transport Robots, and 20 Cultivators Provided

Daedong announced on the 14th that it will provide free rental of 49 of its agricultural machines, including tractors, cultivators, and transport robots, until the end of this year to support farmers in the Gyeongbuk region affected by wildfires.

The damage to agricultural machinery in the five cities and counties of Andong-si, Uiseong-gun, Cheongsong-gun, Yeongyang-gun, and Yeongdeok-gun, which were affected by the Gyeongbuk wildfires, is estimated to be around 850 units combined of tractors and cultivators. The company is actively cooperating with local agricultural technology centers and local governments to help the affected farms recover quickly. Daedong plans to establish continuous support measures to minimize the difficulties faced by the affected farmers, ensuring that this free rental is not just a one-time aid.

On the 7th and 8th, Daedong shipped 9 tractors to agricultural technology centers in the heavily affected areas. Some models were pre-equipped with loaders and rotary tillers so that farmers renting the machines could use them immediately for their work.

Considering that many orchards are located in the affected areas, Daedong will also provide 20 units of the transport robot 'RT100'. The 'RT100' is easy to operate via wired control and features four-wheel drive for rough terrain navigation, zero-radius turning, lift and dump functions, making it useful not only for agriculture but also for transporting debris caused by the fire in various situations. The cultivator, which is the most damaged item in quantity, will be rented free of charge with 20 units available. Additionally, Daedong will offer special support benefits when purchasing tractors to alleviate the economic burden on affected farms.

In addition to agricultural machinery rental, Daedong will provide human support as well. The company has formed a separate team to offer free maintenance of agricultural machinery and is considering dispatching volunteer teams. Furthermore, essential daily necessities will be provided immediately to farmers who have lost their homes.
