Applications Accepted from the 14th to 18th
Aiming to Address Workforce Shortages at SMEs
Jeonju City in North Jeolla Province is recruiting participants for the 'Jeonju-type Naeilchaeum Mutual Aid' support project for five days until the 18th.
According to the city on the 14th, this recruitment is designed to support long-term employment and asset formation for workers at small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, as well as to help resolve workforce shortages at local SMEs.
The Jeonju-type Naeilchaeum Mutual Aid is an employment retention support project for SMEs that the city has been promoting since 2023. This year, in order to reduce the burden of mutual aid contributions for SMEs, Jeonju City signed an agreement with the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) to implement a strategic industry-specialized win-win cooperation mutual aid plan.
Through this strategic industry-specialized win-win cooperation mutual aid, the subscription period for the Jeonju-type Naeilchaeum Mutual Aid has been shortened from the previous 5 years to 3 years. In addition, the previous method, in which Jeonju City solely supported 100,000 KRW per month out of the company's monthly contribution of 240,000 KRW, has been changed so that for two years, the full company contribution is jointly supported by Jeonju City and KOSME, and after two years, Jeonju City solely supports 100,000 KRW per month.
As a result, the total mutual aid contribution that companies have to bear has been drastically reduced from 8.4 million KRW to 1.68 million KRW, significantly easing the burden on companies. Workers who join the Jeonju-type Naeilchaeum Mutual Aid and remain employed for more than three years can receive a mutual aid payment of 12.24 million KRW, jointly accumulated by the worker, SME, local government, and KOSME.
The support targets are small and medium-sized manufacturing companies with fewer than 30 employees located in Jeonju City, and any Jeonju citizen who can work long-term for more than three years is eligible to apply. The number of recruits this year is up to 22, with a maximum of two applicants per company.
If recruitment is not completed within this application period, additional applications will be accepted from the 1st to the 10th of each month starting next month. For more details, check the announcement on the Jeonju City website, or contact the Jeonju City Corporate Support Division or the KOSME Jeonbuk Regional Office.
A city official stated, "The Jeonju-type Naeilchaeum Mutual Aid can help resolve workforce shortages for local manufacturing SMEs and provides a system for workers to build assets. We hope that the newly revised strategic industry-specialized win-win cooperation mutual aid plan will help alleviate the workforce shortage for SMEs this year."
