Seongdong-gu 'Jungnangcheon Picnic Garden' Renovation Completed

A Riverside Garden with the Theme of "Travel in Everyday Life" Created Near Seongdonggyo Bridge
Spring Flowers in Full Bloom and Sculptures Evoking the Excitement of Trains and Hot Air Balloons

Seongdong-gu (District Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that it has created the 'Jungnangcheon Picnic Garden' to allow residents to fully enjoy nature and relax in the spring.

The area around Jungnangcheon is filled with cherry blossoms and colorful tulips in full bloom during spring, attracting continuous visits from residents. The district established the 'Picnic Garden' near Seongdonggyo Bridge along the riverside with the theme of 'Travel in Everyday Life' so that people can enjoy the beauty of spring flowers up close and have a comfortable rest.

The garden features a variety of spring flowers in different colors such as Anishida and Lupinus, along with exotic plants that are hard to find in the city like large cycads and bottlebrush trees, allowing visitors to feel the atmosphere of spring. The beauty reaches its peak from mid-April when hydrangeas begin to bloom.

Additionally, with the hope that garden culture will spread in residents’ daily lives, a 'Gardener’s Workshop' and various sculptures evoking the excitement of travel were installed to make the garden feel more familiar to visitors.

To help visitors create special memories, photo zones shaped like hot air balloons, trains, and cars?each symbolizing 'Garden Walk Above the Clouds,' 'Blooming Picnic Station,' and 'Flower Road Drive'?were set up throughout the garden.

More than 20 parasol benches and around 40 colorful fun-design benches are also provided for visitors to rest comfortably. The fun-design benches, arranged in various forms, not only add cheerful and stylish enjoyment but also make the space more attractive and lively, enhancing the overall pleasure.

Along with creating the picnic garden, the district completed the removal of harmful plants and maintenance of green spaces nearby, enabling families, friends, and couples to enjoy the beautiful scenery in a more pleasant environment on the open lawn.
