Trump's Medical Exam Results Released: "Excellent Cognitive Ability and Physical Health"

Donald Trump, the 78-year-old President of the United States, has been found to possess the physical and mental capabilities suitable for carrying out the duties of the presidency, according to the results of a health examination.

According to AP News and others, the White House released the health examination report on the 13th (local time), stating this.

President Trump's personal physician, Navy Colonel Sean Conley, said, "He demonstrates excellent cognitive abilities and physical health, and is fully fit to perform the duties of head of state and commander-in-chief." He also evaluated that President Trump "has a strong heart, lungs, nerves, and overall physical function," and "maintains a very healthy condition."

The physician stated, "His active lifestyle continues to greatly contribute to his well-being." He added, "President Trump's day consists of attending multiple meetings, public appearances, meetings with the media, and frequent golf tournament victories."

President Trump underwent his annual health examination on the 11th at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland, near Washington DC.

Immediately after the examination, President Trump said, "Overall, I felt I was in very good condition," and "I also took a cognitive ability test and answered all the questions correctly."

The test he referred to is the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). The personal physician reported in the report that President Trump scored a perfect 30 out of 30. AP News stated that it was the same test he took during his first term. He also underwent screenings for depression and anxiety, and according to the report, received normal scores.

President Trump, who will turn 79 in June, is the oldest U.S. president at the time of inauguration. He is four years younger than former President Joe Biden, who was 82 when his term ended last January.

He did not receive recommendations for weight loss and exercise this time, which he had during the first-term health examination. His weight, which was 244 pounds (110.7 kg) four years ago, has decreased by about 9 kg to 224 pounds (101.6 kg) this time. His body mass index (BMI) dropped from 30.5 in 2020 to 28 this time.

Additionally, President Trump's cholesterol levels are improving with the help of medication. AP reported that his cholesterol level was 233 in the January 2018 health examination, 196 in early 2019, 167 in 2020, and is currently 140. According to AP, an ideal cholesterol level should be below 200.

His resting heart rate remains the same at 62 beats per minute. According to AP, a normal resting heart rate for adults is 60 to 100 beats per minute, and generally, the lower the heart rate, the better the cardiovascular health. However, his blood pressure was 128/74, which is higher than average and requires management, the report pointed out.

He also underwent a colonoscopy last July, which revealed benign polyps and diverticulosis. It was also noted that President Trump had an appendectomy at age 11. Although he mentioned having cataract surgery on both eyes previously, the dates of the surgeries were not specified.

The health examination also confirmed a scar on President Trump's right ear from the assassination attempt during the Pennsylvania shooting in July last year.
