Ahn Dogeol: "Gwangju, the Global Innovation City Leading Korea"

Attending the Launch Ceremony of Manmin Gongdonghoe
Presentation on "Future Vision~"

Ahn Dogeol: "Gwangju, the Global Innovation City Leading Korea" Ando Geol, Member of the National Assembly.

Representative Ahn Dogeol, a member of the Planning and Finance Committee who is continuing his activities to establish presidential campaign pledges as the Senior Vice Chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea's Future Economic Growth Strategy Committee (representing Gwangju Dongnam-eul), attended the launch ceremony of the "Forum for Setting Gwangju and Korea Right - Manmin Gongdonghoe" held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center on the 13th. He delivered a presentation on "Gwangju's Future Vision and National Balanced Development Strategy."

On this day, Representative Ahn emphasized, "Gwangju is a city with diverse innovative capabilities in AI, energy, culture, bio, and mobility. If these are consolidated on a national level, Gwangju can become a key hub for Korea's future growth." He then presented a future vision centered on four major strategies.

He argued that, in order to foster Gwangju as a global AI energy hub city, it is necessary to establish a super-scale AI cluster, build a distributed energy-based power grid, and create a solar and wind renewable energy belt.

As strategies for creating next-generation industrial clusters, he suggested establishing an integrated bio cluster linked with Chonnam National University, Chosun University, Christian Hospital, and Hwasun Vaccine Industrial Complex; creating Korea's representative mobility city; and building ultra-high magnetic field research, industry, and infrastructure.

To complete the "Asia Culture Centered City 3.0" initiative, he emphasized the need to foster the National Asia Culture Center as a global hub for creative and performance industries, attract branches of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, National History Museum, and National Assembly Library, and create a global cultural tourism town connecting ACC, Yangnim-dong, and Mudeungsan.

Alongside this, for the strategy of creating a Southwest Mega City, he stated the need to expand wide-area transportation infrastructure such as the West Coast KTX and Saemangeum~Muan railway, establish a renewable energy-based AI cluster (Mega Sandbox), and promote the relocation of the integrated civil-military airport and the establishment of an international gateway airport in the southwest region.

Representative Ahn said, "We will join forces with the citizens so that Gwangju can become the central axis of national balanced development," and added, "I hope that Manmin Gongdonghoe will become the starting point of a new Republic of Korea from Gwangju, the heart of democracy."
