Posting on Facebook, Myeong Signals Imminent Revelations
"No One Should Force Me to Lie"

Myeong Taegyun, who was detained on charges of violating the Political Funds Act and later released on bail, posted on the 13th, "Which prey should I bite first to excite and cheer?" signaling a forthcoming expos?.

In a post on his Facebook that day, Myeong said, "A starving lion locked in the Colosseum cage for 145 days now stands in the middle of the arena with the cage door open." This metaphor likened himself, recently released after five months of detention, to a starving lion. He continued, "The distant roar of the crowd, the figure of the Tsar looking down on me," and asked, "Which prey should I bite and tear first to make them excited and cheer? Isn't that the situation I am in?" He then raised his voice, saying, "No one should force me to lie."

Myeong, who has operated a polling company centered in Changwon, Gyeongnam, and interacted with politicians, is known as a key figure in the suspicions surrounding former President Yoon Seok-yeol and his wife's 'nomination interference.' Previously, Myeong was indicted on charges of exchanging 80.7 million won through Kang Hyekyung, the former accounting manager of former People Power Party lawmaker Kim Youngseon, from August 2022 to November 2023.

Myeong was detained for five months and was released on bail by court approval on the 9th. The court granted bail under three conditions: permission for residence changes, attendance when summoned by the court, and prohibition of evidence tampering. Two days after his release on bail, on the 11th, Myeong underwent an on-site investigation by the special investigation team for Myeong Taegyun’s suspicions at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office at the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office. When asked by reporters about the decision to dismiss former President Yoon, he avoided answering by saying, "It is not proper for me to say anything," and added, "In the past, when something happened to the king they served, they wore a conical hat and did not look up at the sky."

Myeong claimed to have conducted private opinion polls for former Daegu Mayor Hong Jun-pyo and Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, but both Hong and Oh completely denied this.
