Cheering for a Second Youth... Dalseogu Senior Welfare Center Successfully Holds Regular Performance Bringing Inspiration and Hope

The Neulhaerang Theater Troupe, affiliated with the Dalseo-gu Senior Welfare Center in Daegu, held its 2025 regular performance at the Waryong Hall of the Dalseo Art Center on the 10th, delivering deep emotion and a warm message to the audience.

The Neulhaerang Theater Troupe was selected for the 2024 Cultural and Arts Support Program by the Korea Senior Welfare Center Association and has since been operated with the passionate participation of 16 seniors who showcased the skills they have honed on stage to their fullest.

This performance was organized to provide retired seniors with cultural and artistic experiences, foster a positive perception of the elderly in the local community through theater, and expand opportunities for seniors to participate in society.

The Neulhaerang Theater Troupe's "When Spring Blossoms" depicts the story of a man and a woman who meet at the welfare center and, amidst misunderstandings and prejudices from family and those around them, experience conflict and change.

The subtitle, "I Like My Age Now," captured the joys and sorrows of the seniors' lives, offering a gentle sense of inspiration.

Director Park Dongmin, who directed this performance, said, "I wanted to talk about hope through this work," and added, "I hope that everyone who watched 'When Spring Blossoms' felt the preciousness of one another."

Kim Jinhong, director of the Dalseo-gu Senior Welfare Center, stated, "Through this Neulhaerang Theater Troupe performance, we were able to discover the hidden talents and passion of our seniors and deliver positive energy to the community," adding, "We will continue to develop and operate various cultural and artistic programs to support vibrant senior lives and expand opportunities for social participation."
