Underground Collapse at Gwangmyeong Sinansan Line Construction Site... Two Workers Missing Contact

A collapse accident occurred at the Sinansan Line construction site in Iljik-dong, Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi Province.

On the 11th, according to the police, at around 3:17 PM, the Sinansan Line Section 5-2 site near Yangji Intersection in Gwangmyeong collapsed. Out of 17 workers on site, 2 are reported missing.

Earlier, at around 12:30 AM, a report was received that multiple central pillars (supports) inside the underground tunnel, constructed using the '2arch' structure, had developed cracks, and traffic on the surrounding roads was completely restricted.

Currently, as the underground space has collapsed, parts of the surface road and commercial facilities have also been damaged.
