Hongseong County Establishes Healing Rest Area at Agricultural Technology Center The first Healing Shelter in Hongseong County, installed at the Hongseong County Agricultural Technology Center and holding its opening ceremony

The Hongseong-gun Agricultural Technology Center in Chungnam has become the first in the nation to establish and officially open a 'Healing Shelter' for local residents.

The Hongseong-gun Agricultural Technology Center announced on the 11th that it held an opening ceremony for the 'Hongseong-gun Healing Shelter' on the afternoon of the 10th. The shelter was built to lay the foundation for a healing agriculture model utilizing the multifunctional aspects of agricultural resources and to provide residents with a space for relaxation and healing.

The Healing Shelter was constructed over three years with a total project cost of 3.2 billion KRW from national and county funds. Located at the Agricultural Technology Center, it is a two-story building with a total floor area of 1,066 square meters, featuring a subtropical greenhouse-style relaxation area and an outdoor garden.

The Healing Shelter, uniquely designed as a two-story structure that preserves the natural slope of the land, offers various viewing points. It is characterized by tall subtropical trees, fragrant flowering plants, small waterfalls, streams, and relaxation spaces, allowing visitors to experience nature even within the city.

The county's Agricultural Technology Center plans to operate a variety of programs so that the Healing Shelter can serve as a vibrant space for communication among residents, as well as enhance health, quality of life, and promote culture and the arts.

Lee Yongrok, Mayor of Hongseong-gun, stated, "As many people are becoming psychologically exhausted in our rapidly changing society, I hope the Healing Shelter becomes a place of comfort and healing for our residents. We will continue to further develop healing agriculture so that agriculture can play an important role in ensuring the health and happiness of the people, beyond being just a simple industry."
