Gwangju Bank (President Ko Byungil) announced on the 11th that its employees voluntarily participated in the Hometown Love Donation Program and held an event to re-donate the thank-you gifts they received back to the local community.
As a representative bank of the region, Gwangju Bank has been actively participating in the Hometown Love Donation Program since 2023. Last month, as a result of voluntary participation by its employees, approximately 130 million KRW was donated to local governments in Gwangju and Jeonnam, putting their love for the region into practice.
Furthermore, the bank went beyond this by re-donating thank-you gifts worth about 22 million KRW, received through the donation program, to local social welfare facilities, thereby extending a warm helping hand to the underprivileged in the community.
Ko Byungil, President of Gwangju Bank, said, "It was a great opportunity for Gwangju Bank, which has grown with the love of local residents, to express our genuine commitment to the region," and added, "We will continue to cherish the values and community spirit of the region and practice our love for the community through various social contribution activities."
