Jeonju Public Health Center (Director: Kim Sinseon) is launching a special event called the "Memory Frame" project, which creates and gifts framed photos capturing precious moments for dementia patients and their families.

Jeonju Public Health Center Launches 'Memory Frame' Program for Dementia Patients and Families We present precious moments of families with dementia patients. Poster provided by Jeonju City

According to the health center on the 11th, the core of the "Memory Frame" project is to select meaningful photos, often stored but rarely revisited on mobile phones, and turn them into framed pictures to present to families. The project is designed to revive fading memories and strengthen the emotional bonds among family members.

Any family member of a dementia patient registered with the Jeonju Dementia Relief Center can apply for the "Memory Frame." Applications can be made by visiting the dementia counseling office on the third floor of Jeonju Public Health Center or online through the integrated application support site on the Jeonju city website. Selected families will receive a complimentary photo framed in a high-quality 12x17 inch acrylic frame.

A family member of a dementia patient who received a "Memory Frame" said, "At some point, we only took pictures but never looked at them again. Thanks to this project, we were able to replace the frame in our living room for the first time in over ten years. I hope that sharing stories about the day of my husband's 80th birthday party, captured in the frame, will help hold onto even a small part of his fading memories."

Kim Sinseon, Director of Jeonju Public Health Center, stated, "A frame is not just an object; it becomes a 'window of memory' where the time, emotions, and stories contained within come alive again. Through the 'Memory Frame,' we hope to revive even a small part of the fading memories of dementia patients, encourage warm conversations among family members, reduce psychological distance, and lessen the burden of caregiving."

Meanwhile, Jeonju Public Health Center operates various programs for families caring for dementia patients, including family classes, self-help groups, and caregiving burden analysis. Next month, a "Healing Outing" is also planned to provide physical and emotional healing for families of dementia patients. For applications for the Healing Outing and information on other programs, please contact the Jeonju Dementia Relief Center.
