Suspension of Enforcement via 'Safety Report' System...
Strict Enforcement Continues in Six Major Prohibited Areas

Daejeon Yuseong-gu Expands Suspension of Parking Enforcement During Lunchtime Yuseong District Office is cracking down on illegal parking and stopping. / Yuseong-gu

Yuseong-gu in Daejeon announced that it will expand the suspension of parking enforcement during lunchtime starting from the 14th to revitalize local businesses and improve parking convenience for residents.

Previously, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the district office did not conduct illegal parking enforcement during lunchtime, but residents could still report violations through the 'Safety Report' system.

For the first time among the five districts in Daejeon, the district will suspend enforcement of illegal parking during lunchtime for 'other parking prohibited areas,' including the Safety Report system, bicycle lanes, yellow double lines, double parking, the center of the road, and safety zones.

However, in the 'six major parking prohibited areas'?around fire hydrants, at intersection corners, at bus stops, on crosswalks (including stop lines), in children's protection zones, and on sidewalks (pedestrian paths)?as well as in cases that seriously disrupt traffic flow, guidance and enforcement will continue.

The district also plans to specify the enforcement standards for resident reports in greater detail to strengthen the consistency and systematic nature of enforcement operations. The basic principle will be to use the vehicle body as the standard, but if a vehicle parked in a parking lot (within parking lines) or on private property encroaches into a prohibited area, the wheel will be used as the standard. These detailed standards are currently under administrative notice.

Jung Yongrae, head of Yuseong-gu Office, said, "Due to the ongoing economic downturn, local small business owners and alley merchants are facing significant difficulties," and added, "We will continue to seek more flexible and adaptive parking enforcement measures, such as expanding the suspension of enforcement during lunchtime."
