Kwon Seong-dong: "The People Will Not Forgive Lee's Political Ambition"
"Shaking National Leadership and Inviting Economic Risks"
Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, on the 11th targeted the Democratic Party and former leader Lee Jae-myung, emphasizing, "Even now, withdraw the impeachment motion against the Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and immediately cancel the hearing that is hindering the financial authorities."
Floor leader Kwon held a floor strategy meeting at the National Assembly that morning and said, "If the golden time for diplomatic economic negotiations, which the government has secured with difficulty, is wasted due to Lee Jae-myung's political ambition, the people will never forgive this."

Earlier, the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee decided to hold an impeachment hearing for Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Minister of Strategy and Finance, on the 16th. The Democratic Party argues that impeachment is necessary because Minister Choi is suspected of involvement in the December 3 emergency martial law and has engaged in unconstitutional actions by delaying the appointment of Ma Eun-hyuk as a Constitutional Court justice.
Floor leader Kwon said, "They are threatening to summon economic and financial heads such as the Governor of the Bank of Korea, the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, and the head of the Financial Supervisory Service one after another as witnesses," and pointed out, "While major countries around the world are focusing all their efforts on responding to the economic crisis and tariff negotiations, Lee Jae-myung's faction is instead shaking national leadership and indulging in political strife that invites economic risks."
He continued, "The result is obvious. The exchange rate will rise, and foreign capital will withdraw," explaining, "As a result, the storm that should return to the people will diminish, and our economy will fall into a deeper crisis."
Floor leader Kwon said, "The impeachment hearing show for the political ambition of Lee Jae-myung alone is anti-people politics that treats the lives of the people as political spoils, an act of rebellion against the Republic of Korea's economy, and a treasonous act that betrays national interests during the tariff war," emphasizing, "Right now, the people are calling for stability, not impeachment."
Regarding former leader Lee's video announcement of his candidacy the day before, floor leader Kwon criticized, "Lee Jae-myung shouted that he would create a true Republic of Korea, but there was nothing true in his candidacy announcement," and added, "especially in the part where he presented new democracy as a national vision, it was hard to suppress laughter."
He then said, "The 'K' in the K-democracy he mentioned is not Korea but Kill," and "furthermore, the pragmatism Lee Jae-myung spoke of is also a lie." He also added, "President Yoon Seok-youl was judged by the law through impeachment, and now it is Lee Jae-myung's turn to be judged by the people."
