Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) announced on the 11th that it is making efforts to help residents and merchants near the Constitutional Court, who have had a difficult time due to continuous rallies and protests over President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment trial, to restore their daily lives.

Near the Constitutional Court, some police buses that had been blocking the road near the court were withdrawn at 4 p.m. on the 10th, allowing smooth vehicle traffic.

Earlier, Jongno-gu conveyed the difficulties faced by residents who had trouble due to blocked main roads and merchants who suffered to the point of livelihood threats to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and Jongno Police Station, and continuously requested the removal of the barricades.

Since it is difficult to completely withdraw police buses due to incidents such as the Western District Court riot, Jongno-gu plans to continue requesting related agencies to lift traffic restrictions. The district has been striving to protect the residential rights of residents around the Constitutional Court, the business rights of merchants, and the learning rights of students.

As an example, the district decided to promptly proceed with the "Small Business Interest Support Project," which prioritizes part of the second half-year loans to nearby merchants whose sales have significantly decreased. On the 8th, a meeting was held to listen to the stories of merchants affected by the rallies and parents.

Jongno-gu stated, "We feel the importance not only of compensation for damages but also of prevention," and added, "We will continuously request relevant departments to prepare effective measures."
