Inspection of 79 Sites Including Construction Sites, Aging Buildings, Bridges, Lodging, and Welfare Facilities
Voluntary Inspections Including Targets Requested Through the Resident Inspection Application System
Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Wono) announced that from April 14 to June 13, it will conduct the '2025 Seongdong Safety Grand Transition, Intensive Safety Inspection' to eliminate blind spots in everyday safety.
The 'Intensive Safety Inspection' is a prevention-focused activity aimed at establishing a culture of safety in daily life by identifying and improving defects in various facilities and risks in everyday life in advance, and encouraging residents to practice voluntary safety inspections.
The district focuses on inspecting safety-vulnerable facilities annually to prevent safety accidents and promote a culture of safety.
This year, 79 locations including construction sites, aging buildings, bridges, lodging facilities, and welfare facilities will be inspected. Minor issues found during inspections will be addressed immediately, and if serious defects or risk factors are discovered, follow-up measures such as repairs, reinforcements, detailed safety diagnoses, and usage restrictions will be implemented.
In particular, this intensive safety inspection will also include inspection targets discovered and requested directly by residents through the resident inspection application system, aiming to establish a culture of voluntary inspections.
A public-private joint inspection team composed of external experts and public officials in fields such as facilities, firefighting, and electricity will conduct on-site inspections considering the characteristics of the facilities, and will use type-specific checklists to enhance the effectiveness of safety inspections.
Additionally, in cooperation with local community centers, voluntary safety checklists will be distributed to each household and multi-use facilities to encourage inspections of everyday safety elements such as electric shocks, gas leaks, and fires at home. Promotion will also be actively carried out using posters, banners, newsletters, IPTV, and social network services (SNS).
Seongdong-gu was selected as an excellent autonomous district for Seoul City's intensive safety inspection for three consecutive years from 2022 to 2024. It received particularly high evaluations for the effectiveness of inspections, dissemination achievements, and policy contributions.
Jeong Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "Through intensive safety inspections, we hope to preemptively eliminate risks in daily life and encourage residents to voluntarily participate in practicing a culture of safety. We will do our best to ensure there are no blind spots in citizen safety through thorough prevention and management."
