The National Pukyong National University Sports Promotion Center (Director Shin Jongdae) and the Busan Southern District Office of Education (Superintendent Chun Eunsook) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the operation of a Survival Swimming Education Hub Center at the Pukyong National University Water Leisure Center on the 9th, pledging mutual cooperation to strengthen water safety capabilities among local elementary school students.

This agreement aims to secure the public nature of water safety education and to establish a cooperative model between educational institutions. Both organizations agreed to collaborate based on a cooperative system to promote survival swimming education and to enhance the crisis response abilities of children and adolescents in the region.
Through this agreement, the two organizations decided to use the swimming pool at the Pukyong National University Water Leisure Center, operated by the Sports Promotion Center, as a hub to run survival swimming programs for elementary school students.
Pukyong National University will provide educational venues within the scope that does not interfere with the university's educational and research activities, operate professional educational programs, and ensure safety during training. The Southern District Office of Education will provide administrative support and be responsible for recruiting students from various schools, transportation, and safety management.
In addition, both organizations plan to continuously discuss and develop detailed programs and operational plans to expand the base and enhance the effectiveness of survival swimming education.
Through this agreement, the Pukyong National University Sports Promotion Center aims to take the lead in realizing public interest by sharing the university's expertise and educational infrastructure in water safety with the local community, while the Southern District Office of Education expects to establish effective hands-on swimming education in schools.
Shin Jongdae, Director of the Pukyong National University Sports Promotion Center, stated, "With this agreement, which is a model case of cooperation between public educational institutions, we will responsibly provide education that can save the lives of local children by utilizing professional personnel and facilities."
Chun Eunsook, Superintendent of the Southern District Office of Education, said, "It is very meaningful that a practical educational environment has been established to prevent water-related accidents among students. We will continue to prioritize student safety and cooperate with various organizations in the future."
With this agreement as a starting point, the two organizations plan to establish a leading model for water safety education and continuously contribute to creating a practical educational ecosystem in collaboration with the local community.
