Mayor Lee Hyun-jae: "We Will Further Enrich Spaces Where Families Can Stay Together"
A day spent walking with family becomes more than just a simple outing; it turns into a precious memory. According to Hanam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) on the 10th, the city is establishing itself as an ideal urban destination for family outings by creating spaces that blend nature, culture, and art with experiences, relaxation, and education throughout the city.

From paths along the Han River to grassy plazas where children can play, and stages filled with music and art, Hanam’s spaces that combine nature, culture, experience, and relaxation offer a special day within the city.
The Misa Hangang Sand Trail, stretching 4.9 km along the Han River, is a barefoot walking-only path. Walking while feeling the soft sand, sunlight, and the flow of the river allows the body and mind to lighten in tune with nature’s rhythm.
In 2024, new pebble acupressure paths and loess ball trails have been created, enabling various tactile experiences, while gentle music and cherry blossoms in full bloom during spring make the path even more sentimental. Convenience facilities such as foot washing stations, shoe lockers, CCTV, and parking lots are well equipped, making it an optimal space for family outings.
In spring, pale pink cherry blossoms bloom, followed by tulips and daffodils. Misa Lake Park is a citizen’s resting place where flowers and art coexist throughout all four seasons.

On a warm spring day, entering Misa Lake Park, visitors are greeted by a subtle floral scent and the gentle ripples of the lake. Rows of cherry trees scatter pale pink petals, brightening the park. As part of the 'Beautiful Village Development Project,' Hanam City has extensively planted flowers such as tulips and daffodils throughout the park area.
Even after the cherry blossoms fall, flowers of various colors continue the seasonal flow, vividly coloring the entire park. On the 19th, large-scale exhibits of Hanam City’s popular characters 'Hanami' and 'Banguli' from last year will be reinstalled. The 10-meter-high exhibits sparked a social media photo craze last year, becoming a new photo hotspot among citizens.
Union Park is a complex cultural space where green grass and family laughter blend. The highlight here is the 105-meter-high Union Tower observatory. It offers an unobstructed view of the Han River, Geomdansan Mountain, and Misa Rowing Stadium, and enjoying a cup of tea at the unmanned caf? adds a touch of leisure in the city. If you want to experience nature up close, there are few places like Union Park.
'Stage Hanam! Busking,' held throughout Hanam City, brings art closer to everyday life. Performances in various genres such as classical, jazz, traditional Korean music, and magic take place every weekend, making it perfect for enjoying with children.
On April 19th, a large-scale open performance is scheduled at the grassy plaza of Misa Lake Park. This unique outing course, where you can enjoy a spring picnic along with the performance, will provide an unforgettable day for the whole family. 'Stage Hanam! Busking' has established itself as an attractive outing course unique to Hanam, where the entire family can enjoy and communicate beyond just a simple performance.
Walking hand in hand with your child along the loess path at Gam-il Cultural Park allows you to feel nature’s senses even in the heart of the city. An 80-meter barefoot walking facility usable all year round is provided, and in winter, thanks to electric heaters and warm foot washing stations, it can be enjoyed comfortably.
The tactile sensation of soil at a child’s toes remains an experience that stimulates emotions beyond simple walking.

Walking along the green forest path, soft sunlight filters through the trees, and the breeze lightly brushes your clothes. The Wirye New Town Circular Nuri Trail has been reborn as a space where you can feel nature close to daily life and enjoy a peaceful walk.
In 2023, Hanam City completed the Circular Nuri Trail project in the Wirye New Town area with a total investment of 700 million KRW. This path, once a military base fence inspection road, has been transformed into a green resting place where anyone can walk comfortably. A 33-meter wooden bridge and a 0.5 km section of the trail including a dry loess path have been newly maintained, and the existing 0.2 km hiking trail was also refurbished, creating a pleasant walking environment.
The creation process involved a private advisory group, ensuring that citizens’ voices were carefully reflected in everything from the trail’s layout and flow to safety facilities. This path, transformed from a military base remnant into a citizen’s resting place, is an open relaxation space for everyone and has become another Hanam-style premium trail.
Hanam City aims to offer a 'scene of the day' where flowers bloom, music flows, and children play, allowing parents to feel at ease and children to nurture their dreams.

Mayor Lee Hyun-jae of Hanam said, "I believe Hanam should be a city where parents and children walk together, feel together, and build memories together. We will continue to densely fill the city with spaces where families can laugh and stay together in daily life, such as barefoot walking paths along the Han River, forest trails that follow the colors of the seasons, and stages flowing with culture and art."
He added, "We will continue communication administration with citizens so that Hanam can become a city where a child’s sensitivity and a parent’s leisure coexist, and where a short day remains in memory for a long time."
