Large-scale wildfires that broke out in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, Hadong, and other regions have destroyed residents' livelihoods, including homes and forests, resulting in numerous victims.

Seo-gu Council determined that, in the face of such a national disaster, sharing the pain and standing in solidarity is both the responsibility of public institutions and the role of the council. In particular, this decision reflects not just a simple streamlining of events, but the collective intent of Seo-gu Council members to put into action the principle of 'commemorating with the heart, taking responsibility through action.'

To this end, Seo-gu Council boldly reduced formal elements of the event, such as not producing commemorative rice cakes or souvenirs and using mobile invitations, saving approximately 3.5 million won in the budget. In addition, all council members and staff voluntarily raised an extra 3.5 million won, bringing the total donation to about 7 million won. Donations of rice and other goods, as well as monetary contributions, will be delivered to wildfire victims in the affected areas through the Community Chest of Korea.

Chairman Jeon Seungil stated, "The 34-year history of Seo-gu Council has always been a journey with our residents, and at this moment, what we must do is extend a warm hand," adding, "I hope this donation will bring comfort to our neighbors and lead to the spread of sharing in our society."

Meanwhile, in celebration of its 34th anniversary, Seo-gu Council has pledged to continue its role as a warm council in solidarity with residents and as a local government fulfilling its social responsibilities, with plans to carry out various social solidarity activities.
