Mixing Ratio Calculation Time Reduced from 4 Days to 24 Hours
On the 10th, KCC launched the AI-based color solution 'COLOR-NAVI Plus' to target the automotive repair paint market.
COLOR-NAVI Plus is a system that precisely measures the metallic and pearl particles of a vehicle to derive the optimal color mixing ratio. Utilizing AI technology, it can handle color measurement, analysis, mixing ratio calculation, and automatic correction in an integrated process.

This solution accurately reproduces the unique sparkle and particle texture of metallic and pearl series based on KCC's independently developed color difference index 'DeltaE (ΔE) KCC' and particle difference index 'DeltaT (ΔT)'. Considering that the existing color difference index ΔE alone cannot fully resolve the visual differences occurring in metallic and pearl colors, KCC developed its own color difference calculation formula ΔE KCC, which reflects various variables based on accumulated data, and applied it to the automatic mixing ratio calculation system.
During the precise correction process, AI automatically adjusts color and particle differences, enabling faster and more accurate color reproduction. Previously, skilled colorists had to match colors through repetitive work, and in some cases, physical samples had to be sent to paint manufacturers, taking an average of more than four days. However, with COLOR-NAVI Plus, once the vehicle color is measured with a colorimeter and the data is uploaded online, the optimal mixing ratio can be received within 24 hours after the request is submitted.
KCC expects COLOR-NAVI Plus to significantly improve painting work efficiency and enhance color matching accuracy, thereby improving overall productivity in the automotive repair market.
