Yoon Sangwon Memorial Hall to Host "May Bojagi Art Class"
The Cheondong Village Minju Community Center (Yoon Sangwon Memorial Hall) will hold the "May Bojagi Art Class" to commemorate the upcoming 45th anniversary of the May 18 Democratization Movement, which is just a month away.
The May Bojagi Art Class offers participants a chance to view the special exhibition "The Boy Is Always By Our Side" and then carefully wrap the book "The Boy Is Coming," which is inspired by the May 18 Democratization Movement, using traditional bojagi (Korean wrapping cloth).
This program will be taught directly by Kim Bora, vice president of the Korea Bojagi Art Association. The class will be held for two days, from May 17 to 18, from 10:40 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Yoon Sangwon Memorial Hall for 30 adults. Registration is available via QR code or Instagram.
A representative of the Yoon Sangwon Memorial Hall said, "The May Bojagi Art Class is more than just wrapping a book; it is a special experience where history and culture come together through the use of traditional bojagi," adding, "We wanted to give the book The Boy Is Coming as a gift to remember the May 18 Democratization Movement and the youth who sacrificed their lives."
Meanwhile, the special exhibition "The Boy Is Always By Our Side," which honors the proud participants of the May 18 Democratization Movement and commemorates the spirits of the young souls of May, will continue at the Cheondong Village Minju Community Center (Yoon Sangwon Memorial Hall) until May 31.
