On the 9th, according to his agency Galaxy Corporation, singer G-Dragon (real name Kwon Ji-yong) will carry out the 'Space Music Transmission Project' at 8 PM at the KAIST Space Research Institute in Daejeon.
On this day, G-Dragon will use the generative AI Open AI 'Sora' to transmit his music and music video into space. This is part of NASA's (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) 'Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence' (SETI) project. Previously, the British rock band The Beatles transmitted their music into space. This is the first time a Korean singer's music has been transmitted into space.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon was appointed as a special professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KAIST in June last year. His term lasts until June 2026. Galaxy Corporation established a cooperative relationship with KAIST last year.
