'AI Administrative Innovation Promotion Team' Launched with Participation of Public Officials and Experts

Gyeonggi-do Ansan City is accelerating AI-based administrative innovation. Following the launch of the 'AI Administrative Innovation Promotion Team' composed of public officials and private experts, the city is strengthening efforts to integrate AI into overall administration by experiencing solutions from advanced companies.

According to Ansan City on the 9th, the city held an 'AI Solution Experience Event with Microsoft (MS)' for employees the day before. At the event, the 'AI Experience Bus' operated by MS visited the city hall directly to demonstrate various technologies including ▲Copilot-based work solutions ▲AI-based conversational chatbots ▲AI interpretation services ▲AI night civil service automatic recording and analysis system.
The event was organized by the 'AI Administrative Innovation Promotion Team' launched that day. The promotion team, consisting of 13 public officials and 6 experts from Hanyang University's Department of Artificial Intelligence and software (SW) development fields, is an organization established by the city to implement citizen-centered smart administration.
The promotion team is responsible for exploring ways to apply smart technologies to administration for innovation in public services and solving urban problems. Its main roles include ▲discovering urban issues and solutions using AI technology ▲building smart administrative systems utilizing big data and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The promotion team will operate for nine months from this month until December. It will hold regular weekly meetings to check the progress of tasks and conduct meetings as needed for practical consultations. Monitoring and feedback for successful implementation will also be provided.
Jeon Deok-ju, Director of the Administrative Safety Education Bureau and head of the promotion team, said, "Through the promotion team, we will be able to provide better services and smart administration to citizens," adding, "We expect that the use of AI technology will also contribute to solving urban problems and improving administrative efficiency."
In addition to this AI solution experience, the promotion team plans to build an efficient AI administrative system through events such as ▲employee capacity-building training ▲visiting the COEX International Artificial Intelligence Exhibition, and benchmarking other local governments.
