Mokpo City Eoullim Library Holds Relay Handwriting Event for Han Kang's Poetry Collection

Writing Each Poem by Hand in a Relay Format
An Opportunity to Experience the Depth of Literature Through Transcription

The Eoullim Library in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do announced that from the 9th until the 31st of next month, it will host a 'Transcription Relay' event in the library's transcription room, featuring 'I Put an Evening in the Drawer,' the first poetry collection by Han Kang, the 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature laureate.


This event is a participatory program where users complete a book by handwriting one poem each in a relay format. It offers an opportunity to experience the depth of literature together through transcription, going beyond simple reading.

Additionally, after the transcription, a 'Thinking Memo' corner will be available where participants can freely share their thoughts and impressions, fostering communication and the exchange of ideas. A library official stated, "We hope this event will be a time to feel the deep inspiration and joy that the sentences in the book offer, not only by reading but also by writing and sharing them."


Meanwhile, the completed transcription book will be compiled into a volume and registered in the Eoullim Library's collection, where it will be available for anyone to read.
