On the 9th, KB Financial Group became the first domestic financial company to receive the highest 'AAA' rating for three consecutive years in the '2024 MSCI ESG Ratings' by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI).
MSCI, a global investment research firm, evaluates the ESG management performance of approximately 8,500 listed companies worldwide each year and publishes the results in seven grades ranging from AAA (highest) to CCC (lowest).
In this evaluation, KB Financial received excellent ratings in key areas such as 'corporate governance,' 'human capital development,' 'financial consumer protection,' and 'financial accessibility.' KB Financial is the only domestic financial company to have earned the 'AAA' rating for three consecutive years.
In addition to the '2024 MSCI ESG Ratings,' KB Financial was also rated 'Low Risk,' the highest grade among domestic financial companies, in the 'Sustainalytics ESG Risk Rating,' and was included in the 'Dow Jones Sustainability Indices' World Index for nine consecutive years.
The reason global ESG rating agencies consistently rate KB Financial highly, according to KB Financial, is that the group has established a stable sustainable management system centered on the 'ESG Committee' under the board of directors, expanded win-win finance and support services for financially vulnerable groups and small business owners, and strengthened ESG management practices across all affiliates.
