Employee Dies After Being Caught in Machine at Yongin Plant on the 9th
CEO Gumi-hyun Says, "I Am Deeply Devastated"

Gumi-hyun, CEO of Ourhome, expressed an apology regarding the death of an employee who was involved in an accident while working at the Ourhome factory located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province on the 4th.
In a statement on the 9th, CEO Koo said, "As the CEO, I am deeply devastated by the occurrence of an accident that should never have happened," and added, "I bow my head and sincerely apologize."
He stated, "I offer my deepest condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family, and also extend my apologies and comfort to the colleagues at the site," and explained, "The company is mobilizing all its resources to support the bereaved family and is actively cooperating with relevant authorities to accurately determine the cause of the accident."
He further emphasized, "We will sincerely participate in all investigations and do our best in taking necessary measures. We will meticulously establish and thoroughly implement countermeasures to ensure that such an accident never happens again."
At around 11:20 a.m. on the 4th, a male employee in his 30s was caught by the neck in a machine at the Ourhome factory in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The employee was transported to the hospital but did not regain consciousness and passed away in the early morning of the 9th.
Ourhome stated that relevant authorities plan to conduct an autopsy to accurately investigate the cause of the accident.
On the 7th, three days after the accident, Ourhome issued an apology statement under the name of Lee Young-pyo, President of Management. President Lee said, "Regardless of the reason, the company will thoroughly inspect the safety management system across all business operations to prevent such incidents from happening again, and will expand and strengthen the company-wide safety management system."
