The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (President Song Pil-ho) announced on the 9th that the Seoul Medical Association (President Hwang Gyu-seok) recently donated 157 million KRW to support wildfire damage recovery and aid for disaster victims in the Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam regions, which suffered from large-scale wildfires.
The donation from the Seoul Medical Association will be used for recovery activities such as emergency daily necessities support for disaster victims, operation of temporary shelters, and livelihood stabilization support.
Hwang Gyu-seok, President of the Seoul Medical Association, said, "The role that medical staff can play at disaster sites is by no means small," and added, "I hope this donation, made with the heartfelt support of doctors, will provide practical help to the affected neighbors."
Hope Bridge entered an emergency work system with all staff starting March 22, when the wildfire began to spread. To stabilize the lives of disaster victims, Hope Bridge urgently provided a total of over 440,000 relief items to the affected areas, including ▲1,586 emergency relief kits (29,424 items) ▲7,088 corporate relief kits ▲2,095 shelter relief tents ▲2,056 floor mats ▲over 330,000 daily necessities (bottled water, underwear, blankets, clothing, ready-to-eat meals, etc.).
