Operation of Integrated Control Center for Nine Unmanned Public Parking Lots
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) will operate the "Public Parking Integrated Control Center," which integrates nine unmanned public parking lots into one for real-time management, starting from the 10th.
This integrated control center was established to move away from the previous individual response method for each parking lot, enhance the efficiency of the unmanned operation system, and minimize user inconvenience.

The integrated control center was built on the 2nd floor of the Hannam-dong Public Parking Lot (224-19 Itaewon-ro) Complex Cultural Center. The Yongsan-gu Facilities Management Corporation, the entrusted operating agency, operates it 24 hours in real time. Through the integrated management system, it handles parking fee settlement and user guidance, links the closed-circuit television (CCTV) internal video networks of each parking lot to establish an integrated monitoring system, and simultaneously manages parking lot operations and facility safety.
Additionally, 12 large monitors have been installed inside the integrated control center to operate the parking control system. This enables real-time communication with users to promptly resolve issues such as automatic fee settlement errors or parking inconveniences when complaints arise.
To prevent safety accidents that may occur due to unmanned operations, high-definition CCTV cameras (2 million pixels, video storage period of over 30 days) with network connectivity have been additionally installed in blind spots of the parking lots under integrated control. A system has also been established for patrol teams to respond promptly in case of abnormal situations.
Safety measures against electric vehicle fires have also been strengthened. The electric vehicle charging area at the Hannam-dong Public Parking Lot, which is used as a complex cultural facility including the Multicultural Family Center, was relocated from the 3rd basement floor to the ground level to reduce risks to life and property. The charging area on the 4th basement floor of the Itaewon 2-dong Public Parking Lot, where fire truck access is difficult, was also moved to the rooftop ground level.
Eleven thermal cameras have been installed at eight public parking lots equipped with electric vehicle charging zones. A response system has been established so that patrol teams can immediately dispatch or quickly report to the fire station depending on the situation.
The district plans to improve aging parking lot facilities next year and additionally link seven more public parking lots to the integrated control center.
District Mayor Park Hee-young said, "Through integrated control using smart equipment such as networked CCTV and thermal cameras, we have greatly enhanced the safety and convenience of public parking lots. We will create a parking environment that anyone can use conveniently and safely through 24-hour continuous monitoring and patrol systems."
