Ryoko Hirosue's Agency Issues Apology Statement
"We Will Fully Cooperate with the Investigation"
Japanese famous actress Ryoko Hirosue was arrested on charges of assaulting a nurse, and her agency has expressed a position of "sincerely apologizing" and announced that she will suspend her activities going forward.
On the 8th, Ryoko Hirosue's agency 'R.H' stated on their official website, "We deeply apologize for causing trouble and concern to the victim and all related parties." They added, "As the matter is currently under investigation, we will refrain from making detailed announcements," and "Ryoko Hirosue will suspend all activities for the time being and reflect on her actions." Regarding future responses, they said, "We will handle this sincerely," and "We apologize once again."
Earlier, Ryoko Hirosue was arrested on the spot for assaulting a nurse. She is accused of kicking the nurse and scratching her arm while waiting for medical treatment at the hospital around 12:20 a.m. that day.
On the previous evening around 7 p.m., Ryoko Hirosue was involved in an accident where she crashed into a large trailer while driving on the Shin-Tome Expressway northbound in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture. She sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. It is reported that her manager was riding in the vehicle with her.
After news of the arrest became known, the performance in which Ryoko Hirosue was scheduled to appear was also canceled. Ryoko Hirosue was set to perform in the reading play "The Little Prince," which will be held next month in Tokyo and Kochi Prefecture, Japan. Shunsuke Yamashita, a guitarist and cast member of the reading play, posted on his social media, "Due to Ryoko Hirosue's suspension, all performances of 'The Little Prince' have been canceled," and added, "We are very sorry."
