Damsun Great Dharma Assembly from the 14th to the 20th

Jogyesa Temple and the Future Headquarters of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism announced that they will hold a Damsun (Zen Dialogue) Great Dharma Assembly from the 14th to the 20th at 3 PM on a special stage in front of the Daeungjeon Hall at Jogyesa Temple in Jongno, Seoul, to comfort the people who have endured the turmoil of the impeachment political situation and to heal their wounded hearts. The Damsun Great Dharma Assembly is a large-scale Buddhist ceremony held every three years since the Goryeo Dynasty, aimed at national harmony and the prayer for the nation's prosperity through the wisdom of Seon (Zen).

This Dharma Assembly will be conducted over seven days with participation from leading Seon masters in Korea. On the 14th, Ven. Yeongjin, the head monk of Baekdamsa Temple; on the 15th, Ven. Haeguk, the head monk of Seokjongsa Temple; on the 16th, Ven. Hyeonmuk, the abbot of Songgwangsa Temple; on the 17th, Ven. Ilsu, the senior monk of Baekyangsa Temple; on the 18th, Ven. Muyeo, the head monk of Chukseosa Temple; on the 19th, Ven. Uijeong, the head of the Seonwon at Sangwonsa Temple; and on the 20th, Ven. Daewon, the abbot of Haeinsa Temple will lead the Dharma assemblies.


A representative of the Jogye Order stated, "We pray that the hearts of the people who have endured difficult times will be healed and find peace, and that our country will move forward with renewed hope."
