The Bank of Korea announced on the 7th that it will accept applications for the '2025 Monetary Policy Contest' for three days starting May 26.
The contest is held to provide university students with an opportunity to simulate the monetary policy decision-making process. Teams of four current undergraduate students from domestic universities can participate. Applicants must submit an application form, qualification verification documents, and a report (within 7 pages) on the topic "The most important issue to consider when deciding the base interest rate in May." The Bank of Korea offers preferential treatment in document screening for new employee recruitment for five years to outstanding participants. Applications and preliminary materials will be accepted from May 26 to 28.
The preliminary results will be announced between June 19 and 20. The regional preliminary contests will be held between July 14 and 15, hosted by the headquarters (Seoul) and regional offices (Busan, Daegu-Gyeongbuk, Gwangju-Jeonnam, Daejeon-Sejong-Chungnam, Gyeonggi). The national final contest is tentatively scheduled for August 12 and will be hosted by the Bank of Korea headquarters.
