Choi Sang-mok "Supplementary Budget Needed for Trade and Livelihood... Close Communication with National Assembly"

Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Economy and Finance, urged on the 7th to "closely communicate with the National Assembly for an essential supplementary budget to respond to urgent issues," the Ministry of Economy and Finance reported.

At the meeting of foreign affairs ministers held that day, Deputy Prime Minister Choi stated, "It is necessary to analyze the overall impact on the macroeconomy and prepare urgent support measures for critical sectors."

Deputy Prime Minister Choi mentioned the amendment of the Industrial Bank Act to establish the Advanced Strategic Industry Fund, response to trade risks, strengthening artificial intelligence (AI) competitiveness, and support for small business owners as urgent issues that need to be addressed through the supplementary budget.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Director of the Office for Government Policy Coordination.
