Formation of Civil Servant Firefighting Team and Meetings with Related Organizations
Strengthening Response Capabilities through Practical Training and Resident Awareness Campaigns
Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) is making various efforts to establish a wildfire prevention and response system as large wildfires continue to occur nationwide due to recent dry weather and strong winds.
First, to respond quickly and effectively to wildfire spread, a 'General Civil Servant Firefighting Team' composed of employees from the local community centers and the district office was organized. On March 14, wildfire response training was conducted for the firefighting team members at the district office auditorium to strengthen their practical response capabilities.
Additionally, on March 25, a meeting of related organizations for wildfire prevention was held under the chairmanship of the deputy mayor, providing an opportunity to review and share each organization's roles and response systems. Through this, an organic cooperation system among institutions is being established to prepare for a more systematic and effective wildfire response.
On March 28, the Safety and Disaster Division, Garden City Division, and the Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group jointly conducted a wildfire prevention publicity campaign around Baebongsan Mountain, actively informing local residents about the risks of wildfires and prevention guidelines.
Following this, on April 3, a joint wildfire response drill and campaign were carried out together with the Dongdaemun Fire Station, continuing efforts to operate an efficient firefighting system in case of an actual incident.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “Since wildfires are serious disasters that threaten residents' lives and property, we will continue to do our best to create a safe Dongdaemun-gu through proactive prevention activities and thorough response systems.”
